Standard Distance

The 2012 Standard Distance race is taking place on Saturday morning 7th July.  Race start time 8am.  ( The sprint and middle distance take place on the Sunday 8th July.)

Ashburnham is going to be a stunning location to tackle the standard distance triathlon.

1500m Lake swim
40km Rural Bike course
10km Run - set within the grounds of Ashburham Place

With a bespoke medal and technical t-shirt for all entrants, plus a stunning location we aim to offer the highest quality events at a sensible price. 

The Standard Distance also offers a Team Relay option.

The Bike Course is a 20km loop ( 20.3km to be exact from transition!) The Sprint will complete 1 loop, and the standard 2 Loops for 40km.
It is a great course with the first 12km providing some grinding climbs up to Woods Corner before a fast decent for 6km in the Stunning Sussex Lanes, before a final 400m tough climb which brings you back out onto North Trade Road before turning back into Ashburnham Place.

We have uploaded 34 fantastic photos from the grounds of Ashburnham Place ( see link below).  The run course will be a 5km loop, 1 loop for the sprint distance and 2 loops for the Standard Distance.

The run is stunning, the course is all on good solid trails.  Underfoot conditions are good, there are 2 short sections where the surface is uneven and a couple of sections cross a grassy meadow within the grounds.  There is one climb of note about 1km in length.

Normal running trainers will be perfect.

Please note that Ashburnham Place is a Christian Retreat and not open to general admission.  If you do recce the bike course, we do ask you don't enter the grounds and run.  Ashburnham Place have been very supportive letting us use this amazing location for a triathlon.

There will be one mass start for each distance. We expect to have approx 120-140 athletes in each event.

All Race Packs including race numbers, timing chip etc will be collected on race day.

Registration and transition will open from 6:30am.
